Hudson Structured Capital Management (HSCM), the reinsurance, insurtech, insurance-linked securities (ILS) and transportation focused investment manager, has promoted one of its employees, Charlotte Kerr, to the position of Head of Valuations.
Kerr has worked at Hudson Structured Capital Management (HSCM) since 2019, having joined the firm as an Associate.
She was then promoted to Vice President, Assistant Controller earlier this year.
Kerr, who has been named Head of Valuations of HSCM effective immediately, pending immigration approval, will now lead an expanded valuations team of three in Bermuda for the company, which will include an actuary that will be added to the HSCM Bermuda staff later this year.
Before joining HSCM, Kerr worked at KPMG in Bermuda as an Audit Manager and a key member of KPMG’s Banking and Asset Management practice.
Prior to that, she worked at KPMG in Scotland within the Financial Services Audit department, focusing on the audit of funds and investment trusts with Level 3 investments.
Valuations are critical and can be extremely complex in the insurance-linked securities (ILS) and reinsurance linked investments space, so having in-house expertise is important for growing management firms in the space.
Michael Millette, Managing Partner of HSCM, commented on the promotion, “Having worked with Charlotte over the past two years and witnessed her careful, insightful and precise work around the complex valuation processes our firm has in place, we are delighted to have her expand her role as Head of Valuations.”
